Scavenger Hunt 4-22

I'm leaving on a jet plane..beautiful weather here, and I think I'm traveling into the rain. Go figure. LOL. I'll just have to find the beauty in whatever the weather, and pray my camera stays dry!

This week's hunt Yellow, something that makes you smile, ancient/antique, splash, in the sun

Here are my items.

                                                                            ANTIQUE
This chair used to belong to my mother. She made the needlepoint that's on it, and I love the delicate carvings that are on it.
                                                                         IN THE SUN
This nasty crane fly was sunning on my plants. He best enjoy his time, for the yard has been treated, and there should be no trouble from him, or his friends. They do quite a job destroying lawns.
                                                                          YELLOW
This is the Oregon state flower. Called Oregon grape. I've never really cared for it, and often wonder how it was chosen. I know it's native to this area. Not all that pretty. Leaves that are poky like holly, blooms that are bright, but just not my favorite.Perhaps when Lewis and Clark first explored this area, there was this shrub all over everywhere.
                                   THINGS THAT MAKE ME SMILE
Tough to choose this one. So much makes me smile, but this little monkey is absolutely hysterical right now. 19 months old, and on the move. Putting words together that make me laugh out loud, or just smile. The looks he gives are priceless. Here he's swinging from the backstop during his brother's baseball game.
                                                                       SPLASH
Rain splashing in the very dirty bird bath. Once the weather cooperates this will be on the "to do" list

Ashley who sponsors the hunt, said goodbye to her grandmother yesterday. She's in heaven and in a better place, but please say a prayer for her and their family. It's so hard to say good-bye

Gorgeous light on that pretty rocker. You little guy looks adorable and I'm sure is a handful. Our flower here in Maine is the lady slipper.

Okay, I don't even KNOW him and he makes me smile too :) What a cutie! Safe travels, and enjoy DC. I think you are gonna get rain...but so much to do there despite it.
