TGIF a night out with friends

Last night we met friends in a small town not far from home. We were getting together to visit, and to spend time with our godson. He attends a small college about an hour from our house. This is his senior year, and he is anxiously awaiting his final football season with this team. He has lofty goals, and as the kicker has high standards for himself.

We laughed, we ate, we drank, and enjoyed the time together and knew that it had been too long.

The restaurant had a wood fire oven, a wine list of local wines (it sits in the middle of Oregon wine country) and had a very casual comfy feel to it. Rustic wooden tables with old school chairs that were surprisingly comfortable. Baby girl was a hit, and charmed anyone who would look her way.

Somebody is almost two!

Little guy will be two years old tomorrow. My oh my! Might I add, that he is terribly so? He is a pistol, and stick of TNT, a wild man, and we love him to pieces. He has found his voice. He will scream, "NO" "STOP THAT" and my favorite, "SURE"  He is a mama's boy, a wild man, and tries to do everything his big brother does. He will have a few friends and family join him at the splash pad on Saturday and feel celebrated.

And all because two people fell in love.

Family photos

For some reason, taking family photos of my family is the hardest. Perhaps it's because they know me too well, and don't feel like they have to do what I ask. Little guy was full of it and made the photos more than a challenge.  Here is just a sneak peak of what we went through.

Big brother's idea of helping ended up looking more like WWF.  aye yie yie! What a group!

Where is the time going? Six month's all ready! She is showing her personality more and more. She's a perfect combo of her mom and dad. She's curious, she's observant. and she's oh so sweet.

Project Rewind, Quiet

How did August fly by so quickly? It's been such a lovely month. sunshine, company, short trips, and now in the next blink of an eye, it will be school buses and falling leaves.

Here is my last week photo style.

Visitors while we spent a few days in Central Oregon. I love the hot days and cool nights, the wildlife, the bike trails, and the time with friends.

The state fair has started. Curly fries, scones, checking out the baby pigs. All that makes the state fair so much fun. We finished the night with a concert by Joe Walsh from the Eagles. Great night!

The final week of my photo class. The last assignment was to take a self portrait. Every lady in the class was dreading this assignment, so I took one for the team. I took this photo while testing settings, etc. for the final photo. When I took this one I thought, why not?  Submitted it, and told them, go for it ladies, yours will have to be better than this!  I'm going to miss this class, and seeing all the great shots from the other students.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

This week's items are school, rule of thirds, side profile, small and motion.  We spent a few days in central Oregon, at Sun River resort. The hunt came from there
                                                                   RULE OF THIRDS
                                                                        PROFILE
Wiley coyote was out int he field with the horses. We watched him sneak around for awhile, and then finally he went on his way.
                                                                        SMALL
This is the sky at night. It is amazing to me how many stars are there, yet when we look up we really don't see this many until we stop and focus and take it all in. Makes me realize how much we might be missing by hurrying through our lives.
                                                                         MOTION
                                                                          SCHOOL

This is a small town we stopped in on our way home. It saddened me to see the school all boarded up and closed. Wondering where the kids in this town go to school now.

That's it for the hunt. Check out the others at Ashley's scavenger hunt Sunday.

A covered bridge

While we were en route to the beach, we made a pit stop at a covered bridge. I've always been fascinated by covered bridges.  The sign said the school children of this rural Oregon town saved pennies until there was enough money to save the bridge. I love it when a plan comes together!
