Mother's Love

I've enjoyed blog hopping and seeing all the fantastic celebrations that folks had yesterday for Mother's Day.  So many first time mommies with all of their hopes and dreams swaddled in gauze, with adoring eyes.

As a mother to adult children I want to try to pass on one bit of wisdom. As your sweet baby grows, leaves home, takes a spouse, and then has children of their own, your heart will stretch to dimensions you didn't know were possible.

You will feel such pride as you watch them taking on the challenges that adulthood brings. The worries are not gone, you still worry. You still have fears. You still want them to be safe, to not be hurt, to be happy. No longer can a bandaid and kiss on a skinned knee make it all better. Your hands are tied, as you watch and wait to see how their course in life will open up.

Here are my photos of motherhood, from the depths of my heart, I love my children, their spouses, and their children.

Today is their first anniversary. So much has happened in one year's time. It feels like they've been together for many many years.

Being present at the birth of my second grandson was a wonderful moment.

One thing my kids have in common is their love of children. This is so evident when it comes to their niece and nephews. The little boys think Uncle Luke is a rock star, and baby girl will soon look up to Aunt LuLu with adoration.

One Tuesday, my daughter in law;s gram passed away. She was loved, she was a strong woman, she spoke her mind, and she is missed. Yesterday we toasted her with her signature margarita recipe and fried chicken wings. Her legacy will live on in her granddaughter and great grand daughter.

Flowers for all of our mom's who are no longer with us. My mom, Both grandma's for the daughter in law, and my husband's mom. We remember them, and try to keep parts of them alive in all of our family gatherings. Motherhood is not always easy. It's not glamorous, but it is rewarding.

Beautiful post for Mother's Day! I'm catching up on no blogging since my Mother's Day post (and adding a few posts tonight).

Your children, children-in-law and grandchildren are lovely.
