Oh the end of the month in in my sights. It's bittersweet. I never thought I could stay away from home for 30 days. I was wrong. The time has flown. I am sucking up every bit of Hawaii that is left. Baby girl, her other grandma, and her parents are here now. We are celebrating her first birthday with a luau. Evidently, Hawaiians think the first birthday is the most important. They go all out, and we are hoping to celebrate baby girl's first birthday in style!

Time for another hunt! Clues are: Time to eat, getting ready, play time, sweet dreams, scrub a dub. I haven't been as good about taking my camera for specific things, trying to settle down and enjoy the beauty around me. Enough of that, on with the hunt

Friday Friday so good to me.
Another weekend is here. I never know what day of the week it is, one day is the same as another, I usually keep track of what number of the month it is to keep track of who is coming, and who is flying out.The turtles and the whales don't care about the day, their lives continues the same each day and I seriously think I would never tire from watching them.
#1 and I had so much fun collecting shells and sea glass. without his young eyes, I'm sure I won't find as much.
A final sunset
Another attempt at the beach. Little one still doesn't like the sand, or the cute sunglasses her mama bought her.
It has been so quiet since the little boys left town. Hard to see them leave.

Yesterday was a lazy day, a very quiet day. Took a walk, caught up on all the emails I have neglected, and then last night we went into town for dinner.
Working around little girl's naps means staying home, so I'm changing gears and adjusting to the new ebb and flow of things.

Thursday thoughts quickly
Today is my girl's birthday. Hard to believe that so much time has gone by. Sadly, she and her family left Hawaii this morning with my hubs. I'm here with my son, daughter in law, and baby girl. a little cloudy, a little rainy, a good day to sit indoors and do quiet things.
#1 is such a sweet big brother. He looks after his little brother most of the time. He read 4 books while here.
This one is a pistol. He kept everyone on their toes. Lots of laughs, he loves life.
First time on the beach. Not too sure about sand and ocean. Hoping she comes around before the trip is over.
Happy birthday "LuLu" we love you and miss you.

Nurture photography.....silver/treasure
A day in Hawaii
The days are going by so quickly. Little ones not napping, too much time in the sun, we are savoring each and every minute of this trip. Here is a peek into a typical day.
such a sweet big brother keeping the little guy safe while we ride back to the harbor on top of the submarine.
The boys were entertained by the diver who would bring things up for them to look at. Little guy was more interested in the diver than what he had. Waving and waving to them.
So many turtles. Sent the son in law down with the water camera to capture this turtle.
#1 has a homework paper on the cycle of the moon. So easy to do by looking outside each night. The adults had to look up waxing and waning of the moon, as none of us could remember which was waing and which was waxing...tee hee. seven years old and he's keeping us on our toes!also linking at Serendipity
We never tire of watching the whales from our lanai. They jump, splash, wave their fins, make puffs of water from their blow holes, it's so much fun to just sit and watch. This was taken from our lanai with an 18-200 mm lens, so you can see how close they are to us!

Just playing in the ocean is a ton of fun. We have some floats, boogie boards, masks and snorkels and can spend hours just playing in the water in back of our room. Lucy is 0-2 on floats. The first day a wave took her swimsuit bottom down, while she was rearranging herself, the float took off, I went after it, scraping my backside. Float returned safely. Yesterday she broke the seat in the float while she and little guy were floating. errr, she may have to stay in the sand today. :-)
Little guys is afraid of the different wooden mascots around town. Really cracks us up.

Wordless Wednesday looking back
With the little boys here it's fast and furious. The pool, the ocean, going to town for a pearl, dining out, and lots of time reading while the little guy naps. We did a little bit of shopping, and taking the boys into a store in the hopes of finding a birthday gift for baby girl, turned into a gifting for the boys. #1 chose a journal with a compass in it, and little guy "needed" a treasure chest. It's the funniest thing, such a small really junky thing and he's enthralled with it. Carries it around like the toughest of pirates and is guarding his treasures.
The boys are so sweet first thing in the morning. Still dark, and they sit and snuggle.
Little guy is getting quite comfortable in the water. Monkey see, monkey do has been the rule of thumb.
Lucy rocking it in the teeny weenie yellow polka dot bikini that I talked her into getting. Best suit she's had!
If we're not watching whales, we are watching the turtles. Both are plentiful.

After the sunset, and darkness begins to fill the area, a sliver moon pokes out and tries to light the water.
