Backyard concert

Last night we packed the Tahoe, picked up friends and had a little less than an hour's drive to Falls City.  There was a trop-rock concert going on in someones backyard.  The funny thing is, our friend's brother who lives on the east coast is the person who turned us on to this.

Two performers, one which I was familiar with, and have some of his songs in my play list were going to be performing in the backyard of a fan.

We had picnics packed, and the hosts had BBQ brisket, pulled pork, and an array of salads.  We took a small BBQ and cooked oysters, enjoyed salads, fruit, and wine.  The sun was shining, and it turned out to be a wonderful evening.  The only thing that could have made it better would to have been on a tropical beach with these musicians!

Fun idea to have these guys stop by, play and mingle with folks who were just looking for a night of music.  The only downside was, we didn't get home and to bed until midnight.  Mark had work today, and I have Teak to watch...both require rested sharp minds!

the above link is a segment from one of the songs that Kelly Mcguire sings.  Such a sweet song for those of us that have daughters, or even for those that are daughters.  Truly heart felt.

Chablis, the yellow lab was happy to see everyone

the smallest oysters, and the taste was amazing!

The Keizer connection. Front row, fun, rowdy,

Ken asking Kelly what his inspiration was for the song.  Now that I think about it, he never shared the info!

As the evening went on, Mulligan who lives in Mexico, added a fleece jacket, and the host brought out a heater. WE had jackets and blankets, and it was still a little cool towards the end of the concert.

Looks like a fun trip and soiree in the backyard! Good food, friends, and a concert, too! What a special invitation!
