Scavenger hunt Sunday

Oh it's been awhile since I've been on a hunt. This week's items were water, empty, fresh, weathered, and ordinary.

I've been in the state of Washington on the Long Beach peninsula  enjoying friends, and clam digging. The weather has been divine. Sunny and 70's something that makes everything look brighter!

                                                                      WEATHERED
It's always amazing to see a sand dollar in one piece with the beating they take from the waves and sand. This one is weathered on the edges.
                                                                               FRESH
Fresh clams before they're cleaned.
                                                                             ORDINARY
Just an ordinary swing made with rope and wood hanging from a tree.
                                                                         WATER
The water was low, and the boat is sitting high and dry. This is Oysterville where there are thousands of oysters. I love it here, so peaceful and beautiful.

                                                                            EMPTY
Empty crab pots lean against a building.

Time to get back in the saddle

Wow, step away from the blog, stop posting photos, and it's easy to not get back to it. My days are filled to the brim. Did a fundraiser for our city parks. I came home from vacation, and hit the ground running. I was in charge of decorations for a wine tasting fundraiser we recently held. It turned out great, we made some good money for our parks, and as a first year fundraiser, we all felt great about how it turned out.

Then two days later I hosted a baby shower for a dear friend's daughter who is expecting her first child. Lots of people attended, and if not for the help of a friend, I would have been pulling my hair out!  All went well, and the mama to be was showered heavily with gifts and love.

Throw in photos for others, watching the grand kids  a family dinner and sadly looking for a new home for my father-in-law. The latter being a bit stressful and sad. He is needing the next level (or two) of care. Memory care is an area that is sadly hard to find around here. He is beginning a journey down a spiral that is so hard for family to watch. His memory is not holding well, and he is handling it with anger and outbursts. Many tries of medication, none working too well yet.
So, if I've been absent know it's not been because I haven't been taking photos..I surely have!

Also wrapping up a six month photo class I've been taking. The final assignment turned out to be a doozie, and I was working so hard on completing that! I'll share those shots later in the week.

While driving to my daughter's house I saw this field of yellow flowers. One night there were deer nibbling on the flowers. It has been calling to to shoot photos here. I've knocked on the door to ask permission, but so far haven't found the people at home.

So enjoyed doing this six month photo shoot. I hadn't seen her since we did her newborn shots. Such a little doll!

This newborn session was fun. She was joined by her brother, sister, and mom and dad. this shot cracked me up. Vanna while pointing to the letters!

Wordless Wednesday

A quick peek into some of the fun, and some of the visitors we had during our vacation in Maui

Family and ocean, two of my favorite things. Teaching some to snorkel, some to enjoy the sand, the ocean, new foods. So many things to learn, and to share.

Many thanks to Sarah Halstead who had the ten photo template! Love it, and love making these!

Framed portrait

I'm home from my long vacation. It's raining, cold, and the cats are lonely. My sunny days are but a memory that I hope to go through and put up some of my favorites. So much to do, so many things to get together before I can sit down and start blogging again.

For now, I'm entering the I heart faces monthly photo challenge. Framed. One of my favorites. Seeing them last night was sweetness times two. Very special people in my life.
