Wonderful Wednesday

Yesterday I went to meet new life. Nothing puts a smile on my face like a new baby coming into the world. The wonder and excitement as parents meet their little one, is still one of the many perfect things in our world. Babies bring hope, and joy, and amazement. Meet Leo. He joins a big brother and big sister and two amazing parents. I can still smell his sweetness. Warning..this post is photo heavy, I just couldn't quit. :-)

Daddy holding his son for the first time..such instant love. The theme is "boys" and I love how this man is looking at his new son.

Mother and daughter inspect the new boy.

And now he is being introduced to facebook. After all, it is the 21st century!

A tired, but excited grandma starts making phone calls to let those near and dear know that mother and child are doing well. Healthy baby boy, and ecstatic mama. She births babies like it's a walk in the park. Amazing.

And mama has her boy, all sweet and clean, and I'm guessing she won't let go of him for awhile.

As I said my goodbye's the sun was up and shining...little Leo, the sunrise arrival and a beautiful day to call his own.

Tuesday's girl is 3 months old!

I think it should be mentioned, that I like playing dress up more than baby girl.  The sweet dress below is old, er, "vintage". It's one that my mother put me in.  Baby girl could have cared less, but I had fun. We needed to document her third month, so there is the tutu shot that she has worn for months one, two, and now three.

Once the dress up was over, and she was back in her pj's she was most happy! She even gave a giggle out loud which was so cute!

Using Kim Klassens texture daydreamer to add to the vintage look, now baby girl is a postcard.

A look back at the week

Another week in the books, and quick look at how it went. Linking up with Gina and Sarah at project rewind. This week's theme is "weakness" I have been obsessed with flowers this week, mostly peonies, so for this week, my weakness is peonies.

                                                             MONDAY

A small and intimate memorial for my daughter in law's gram. Such a spitfire of a woman, who had such a hard life and demonstrated perserverance and love of family over everything.

TUESDAY

A dinner invitation over to my son's home. Good food, and lovely company
                                                          WEDNESDAY
A solo drive into the country to try and find the peony field that I shot on Monday. Driving around and around, up and down for an hour. I never found the peony field, but I did find some other interesting places.
                                                     THURSDAY
I had a nice surprise in the mail. A lovely bracelet from the Live love travel spring photo challenge. It's the perfect colors, and cute as can be.  silly cat swiped it just as I was taking the shot..apologies for the blur.
                                                                 FRIDAY

When the hubs got home from work, he took me out in search of the peony field. I felt so silly, it was only 20 minutes from home, and I had been all around it, just missing it! Still wasn't in full bloom, darn it! Now the rain has returned, so not sure this field will be the vision I was dreaming of.

                                                             Saturday
We went with our daughter and family to a trout farm. Watching the little boys fish was so much fun, but it also reminded me how much I love to fish. I've gotta find someone who will take me fishing!
                                                                  Sunday
After church, we grabbed the little boys, picked up the father-in-law and went out for breakfast. Wild, is the only way to describe this breakfast. Between an almost 95 year old, and a 21 month old, I was busy! Baby boy double fisting his food. He does love to eat!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Another Week to show my hunt. Shine, fast, left, peace and plain. Here is what I found while snapping around.
                                                                   Shine
I love the way the sun is shining on this shed. It almost glows.
                                                                        FAST
The bees are fast. I didn't have time to chase this one, and was more interested in the fox gloves which grow wild here. One of my favorite flowers.
                                                                            LEFT
This was what was left from an abandoned house in the country. It made me wonder who used to be here. Only two cats and some wild rose bushes were left.
                                                                              PEACE
There is so much peace here. A small trout farm where children (and adults) can fish. The tall trees, fresh air, it's a wonderful peaceful place.

                                                                             PLAIN
Plain little white flowers. An entire field of them, with the puffy white clouds. I was mesmerized.

Linking up over at Ashley's ramblings and photos. Check out the other fabulous finds...you know you want to!

Best of my week

May has come and gone. Flowers are abundant. When the rain holds off, we have the most intense greens, and the most glorious flowers. Being outdoors after so many months of watching rain hit the windows, feels good. Real good.

Friday TGIF

Looking forward to the weekend. Fun plans on the horizon. Most of my obligations are behind me. Had a wrap up of our philanthropy forum. Felt good to thank the ladies that gave such help and support.  I love entertaining, but I also like to be entertained. Presenting, dinner at baby girl's house.

Three month's of absolute cuteness. She has captured the hearts of every family member
Listening to her daddy sing and play the guitar is a favorite thing. He has even written a song just for her. This is when baby girl "gets down" and gets her groove on.
And he receives the ultimate reward...a smile, hands and feet kicking about, pure enjoyment. This is how it begins..little girls slowly wrap their daddy's around their little finger. He's toast from here on out! It's downhill for him from here on out, and so it goes. Daddy's and daughters.

A gift from last father's day...yes, our family has a wacky sense of humor.
