Tutu's little house of horrors

I love Christmas. I love decorating for Christmas. I say it's for the children, but it's more about me watching the children enjoy the decorations. Enter two year old. He's afraid of 90% of my decor.

So funny. I tried talking him into it, I tried tricking him. My final resort was telling him that the nutcracker is good friends with Peter Pan (his latest obsession) the whole time he was standing there, in a soft voice he was saying, "mommy, mommy, mommy" Crack me up!

If I don't look, maybe he won't be there....
 Oh dear, he's still here!

Little Miss nine month's old

Oh my. I saw her on Thanksgiving, just a few short days ago, and how much she changed in four days. Such a sweet girl, delights in the smallest of things. Quick to smile, slow to cry. Fingers that reach beyond normal limits. Who she will be is still a mystery, that I wait to unfold.

Scavenger hunt

I have been away from this for far too long. It's one of my favorite things to do, and yet, the business of life kept happening.

Here is my view of the scavenger hunt
                                                                         BUBBLES

The small town of McMinnville OR was all set with these tiny lights over the street that made it look like little bubbles. (OK, I admit, this is a stretch!)

                                                                        THANKFUL
These were the name cards at our Thanksgiving table. Everyone wrote down what they were thankful for, and then read them.
                                                TREES
Never a lack of trees in Oregon! Trees just beyond the field at yesterdays Div II playoff game. The white team traveled from IL, and had to leave on a sad note. The Linfield Wildcats won!
                                                                      COUPLE
We got to meet the godson's new girlfriend after the game.  She's wonderful!

We celebrated the son in law, and the hubs birthday with a party. Blowing out candles in the kitchen

Wordless Wednesday

As I sit in the chemo room with my girlfriend, I have much to be thankful for. My health, my family, and my friends.

Last Friday night we had a party. The husband and the son-in-law both added a year. It was fun, there were lots of laughs, and laughing. Laughing is good for the soul. I need more laughter.

Gone too long

I have been absent from blogging for too long. I love to blog, I am passionate about taking photos, and have begun to start down a path of doing this for others. While traveling this path, I have been so busy getting photos ready for others, that I haven't taken time to do photos for me.

Add to that a double birthday celebration last week, going to weekly chemo sessions with a dear friend, philanthropic meetings taking up evenings, and then of course the days that I get to watch the sweet grandchildren. Adding it together has been zero in photos for me.

Yesterday for a brief time, there were two grands sitting together, and I was able to capture them. Two grands at the opposite ends of the spectrum. One the oldest, the other the youngest. Middle grand was with his mommy.

Each child is as precious as they are different. This is a good place to be, appreciating what we have.

The weather has been horrid. 100mph winds, rains that seem as if they will never end. Flooding, power outages, and all that goes with storms. I am reminded to be thankful of a warm home, that sits dry and with power. Good health, and loving friends. Yes, there is much to be thankful for.

It's taken #1 grandson a while to be comfortable with the baby. He was always his Uncle's boy, and a little bit of jealousy has surrounded this new baby joining the family. Now he enjoys picking her up and acting like the big guy. No school this week for parent teacher conferences, which means I can visit the big guy without an appointment. I love this snaggle toothed, bed headed boy. He is a darling inside and out.

Wordless Wednesday in the leaves

I have been so busy, and so has my camera! The weather has been cooperating and I hope it holds out for a few more days!

Weeks are flying by like wild monkeys

OK, maybe a bit of an overstatement, but at times I do feel like gerbil on wheel. I have much to be thankful for. My health, my family, my friends, and that is what keeps me going, and also busy.

I'm starting to think about Thanksgiving, I'm hosting this year. We have the room, and it will be nice to have everyone under one roof.

My dear friend is fighting a battle. The worst kind. Cancer. It's scary, and it's sad. Wednesdays are chemo days. I pick her up, stay with her and take her home. We have laughed, we have cried. First round is under her belt. Several more to go.

I tried to spice up chemo by going in costume. Many hours there, we may as well make it fun!

I've been busy taking photos for people. I feel very honored that they trust me to capture their families. So much to do, so little time. I appreciate all the people in blog land that take time out of their day to visit here and leave comments. Happy week everyone!

Baby girl at eight months.

My how fast these last eight months have gone! She's on the move now. Crawling, pulling herself up, cruising around things, letting go and standing unassisted. She's a mighty might. So tiny and so cute. I love watching babies at this age, so curious and learning at such a rapid rate!

So hard to get her to look at the camera. she loved the pumpkins, the grass, and yes, the leaves. Once the leaves started going in the mouth, that was the end of the shoot!
